Never has my neck been so repeatedly complimented as this night. I always want to wear it with a plain, dark dress, to show off the scarf as much as possible. A real thing of beauty. Thank you.

Diamond scarf rocks!

Recently i was invited to take part of lovely evening of making mix tapes & send them of with balloons! What a splendid idea, i much rather do that than spend an evening watching telly.. but this is not all, was also lucky to meet wonderful design talent THE CLOUDCOMMISSION, who's silk scarf and brooch have found a very proud owner in me. This beautiful scarf has diamond shape pattern in vivid colors and could be worn not just around your neck but around your head (Think Audrey Hepburn on Scooter) or as a pocket square, if you are a man or woman who prefers blazers (once again think more like in a spirit of Marlene Dietrich than Queen). I also love this funny wooden brooch that came with scarf. Oddly, its face looks a bit like mine, so feel like I am wearing something very personal and unique, witch these designs truly are. It is very rare nowadays that i find myself buying anything new, since i prefer vintage, but when design is something as this beautiful how could I not love it! I had to change my whole outfit to make this bolo tie work. I tend to steer clear of western clothing, but there's something organic and just 'woody' about this little accessory. I wore it with a pair of selvedge Japanese-made jeans, a belt with bit Texas star on it, and blue-with-bold-white-piping cowboy shirt. I looked the bizniss, bro! Went out, ate Spanish food. Next day I DJed in it. I'm introducing this tie to the nightlife of Newcastle.

Yeehaa!

In these days of sportswear, man-made fibres and cheap manufacturing, I'm always looking for interesting wearable items. I want hand crafted things, but I don't want to look like a bag-person or an eastern mystic, so I avoid most of what is available at 'craft fairs'. So when I noticed those cowboy ties, I begged the young lady on the cart to trust me to blog, and to let me take one away. Fortunately, either my kind face, or my polished brogues and trouser creases, must have done the trick. I wore the bolo on a date last night, and though it may be caddish to say so, I think it might have had at least something to do with my success in spending the night with a dazzling young debutante. Now, to get hold of one of this designer's scarves as a gift for this fine young filly ...

The Cloud Commission
Bucking the trend

The Cloud Commission has looked at ways in which jewellery design functions as a relationship between couples or as part of a wider shared experience. The function of jewellery is to adorn the body, to improve it, jazz it up, to make one desirable. When jewellery is given as a gift, we suppose there is a shared experience, but the gift is still for the sole use of the recipient.

For this project The Cloud Commission wanted to create a vehicle for dialogue, a shared experience, to wear the accoutrements of an elite club of two. The emphasis shifted from how one can improve upon their natural state to how two people can combine to create a look.

Anyways, It’s not really all that. It’s just a couple of bits of jewellery made from our drawings. We like it. It reminds us of Argos.
