6AM (thanks cardboard clock), Monday morning, running a fever, haven't slept a wink, sweating buckets, freezing cold, dark outside... time for a tab and cuppa. I prepare the scene as quietly as possible, the wife isn't one for being woken! On goes the dressing gown, the gas fire roasting my shins, nice fat tab and a steaming cup of Baldrian and honey?!
And as I'm sitting there, I notice the little cardboard clock. It reminds me to write this but also where and why we came by it.
Lovely as it is, my attention wandered (as it does) and I got to thinking about the other stuff dotted around. You can just about make out the San Pedro cactus me and Terry brought back from Amsterdam ten years ago now (try smuggling a cactus!); Evangalia's Greek protest 'intrigue'; Ruth’s pretty roses water-colour, haven't seen her for years; the smoking communist bunny, nice one Peter; the Parisian tortoise; the Alsatian salamander, if that makes any sense at all; and on and on... they're not just stuff but all good memories. So having to think about writing something about the clock, I got to thinking about good times... a purpose served in my reckoning. Still feel like crap mind.

It was nice to see my friends found my clocks on the cart in Brick Lane. They are arty kids. Can't wait to see what they do to it!

Step one complete - Thanks Catherine. I love this project. My blank carriage clock will soon take on a new life... more posts to come. Well done and thanks for trusting me with your idea. Best wishes Erin aka Studio SteakHaus
