Spring Light

There is a beautiful Spring light starting to wake our house up in the mornings now, hitting the flash of colour as the perfect hilight to the mantel, alongside the Kenyan warriors and the Christmas Fair candlestick. Time to get creative again.

Too beautiful to snap but I did it anyway...

I love this beautiful tealight that seems so fragile but is actually quite robust. I just passed it on to a very good friend and even though the shape of the tealight is far too nice to ruin I did what the designer intended me to do and broke off a piece to keep for myself. I just couldn't part with nothing to show for. Surprisingly it took more then just a quick snap to make this new key ring mine. I actually wiggled it quite a bit until i was granted my part of the tealight. But I'm glad I did and I will keep you posted on its development (as I could also see this piece as a very nice necklace or brooch?!). We will see.

Love Me Not Tealight

Love Me Not was specifically developed for Designed & Made’s exhibition Love Me Live With Me to encourage its user to pass on the product to a friend. Its leaves are designed to be broken off by the user before passing the product on to a new user. This way every customer keeps a piece of the product that can be worn as jewelry or on a keyring.

Love Me Not is fabricated using an innovative technology, 3D Printing whereby a laser fuses fine plastic particles into one solid object. This technology is still in its early stages but is becoming more and more accessible. Utilising the translucent properties of this new material Love Me Not changes its appearance when in use.
