I received one of these beautiful embroidery kits from the Love me live with me cart parked up outside the BALTIC . I have lived with it for a while wondering what to do with it, Claire Bakers packaging was so lovely i didn't want to touch it but last night I decided to use the strand of the thread included to embroider the medal motif on the linen wrap for the medal and cushion. I used some french knots and even remembered how to do a bit of chain stitch, 2009 was the year my daughter Lottie was born she loves the medal hopefully I will pass on some sewing skills to her in the future. Medal No. 13

The wonder cart parked up bravely on the concourse outside BALTIC on a very windy day. I received a one of these beautiful embroidery kits. I have lived with it for a week enjoying it unadorned or worn, but last night I decided to use a strand of the thread included to emboider the bird motif on the linen wrap for the medal and cushion. I think it might make a nice needle case so might customise it further. Teddy is wearing the medal. It goes with his Jacobite outfit. I will pass it on this weekend. I have put more images on the-walls-have-eyes.blogspot.com

Claire A Baker (for the line dry co.)
Medal No. 13

The medal is from a limited edition of 13; ‘the bakers dozen’, made from fine bone china slip, reused vintage linen, antique lace & linen tape.

Your pack also includes a presentation/ display velvet cushion together with a screen printed cushion slip to embroider, a handmade booklet containing words, needles & threads.

The embroidery is an opportunity to make your mark, collaborate with the maker, help make it more beautiful before you pass it on to a most worthy recipient… to do the same...

As the medal’s cushion slip moves through hands it will become more embellished and return a new and improved version of itself with a character all of its own, its journey documented and its ephemeral owners acknowledged.

Who is worthy of your medal? And why?

The stories that will be revealed along the journey will form a major part of the medals’ new history…

Your medal will become something to treasure (for a while), personal yet selfless, functional and beautiful.

love me, stitch me, wear me, live with me, give me.
