I love labels, I have recently started to incorporate wash labels into some of my work as a decorative feature, so to get these which actually have WORDS on them and MEAN something was highly exciting, almost a dream come true!...so I incorporated one of these into a laser cut medal I 'composed' which (I feel) fits into the 'revolution' theme; now I wonder should I pass on the medal or can I bear to part with a virgin label, I think not but I know I must ... no pain = no gain.

These landed on my desk the other day from Mandy Pattullo. The labels 'father is the war of all things' were given to Mandy and are from Alex Finlay's contribution to Love Me Live With Me. Food for thought - and discussion. Not ones I would lovingly sew into my favourite jumper! At least these bombs will make lots of new pumpkins.

I have grown 437 gourds this year which I pass on at this time of year for Halloween. I found Alec's quotation unsettling ( father is the war of all things) and wanted to feminise it . I'm a mother, I grow things, I make food. I pass little bits of myself on......

So .... I was gifted these delightful name tags with line from a rather lovely poem sewn on them. To do them justice I decided to select four items of clothing that I loved and attach the 'poetry tags' to the outside and back of the item (it's always nice to give people something to look at as you walk away) using a different coloured thread for each tag. I wasn't completely greedy as I used two of the tags for my husbands favourite pieces of clothing. I feel the tags enhance the clothes we love because we have attached something made with love and lyrical content to items we adore. I know it's wrong to like 'things' but when that things is adding beauty I think it's ok ... I have a couple of other sets of these tags which I am going to send on to two people who I know will love them and live with them and use them.

A family of woven poems. Choose where you would like to sew them or whom you would like to give them to. Take a few for yourself and pass them on.
