My pot, it was an 'unfortunate experience' has begun it's voyage around London. As at the moment I am moving around london staying in different places each week I'd thought i'd use this opportunity to share the pot with the people I'm living each week. So far we've been to Southfields and Aldgate, next stop is Earlsfield. Here's a photo of the pot in its first home.

Cross my palm with silver

"Pick me, Pick me" Curiosity got the best of me so i ventured from my office chair in Hoxton Square and picked up the creamy white dish that was sitting on the pop up exhibition and i took it back to my desk... Day 1 of this partnership ended on a low note, as due to dinner plans and the fear of breaking it, i had to leave it in the office but today i will be bringing it home with me and putting it in pride of place on my shelf in the Living room. there is a saying round the top - "Palms crossed with Silver "- i hope it will give me some luck - watch this space :-0

Thought Pots

For this unique project I wished to share my passion for ceramics with people by creating over twenty small rounded forms which fit snugly into the hand. All these pieces are practical in terms of being containers, but also ambiguous as to how they could be used and I hope that people will then come to use the pieces in different ways from decorative pieces, to cups, vases or containers.
Each piece has either a line from a poem or a book, or an idiom about hands handwritten on the surface and I hope by leaving the clay unglazed on the outside it will introduce people to the tactile nature of the material and encourage people to handle the pieces.
Although these pieces are handmade they are not precious, instead I hope to generate discussion with my work around a number of themes from hand making verses mass production to the nature of the material itself, form, texture, use and purpose.
